Chassis Overview
We offer two (and a half) chassises for the SCX 24: the Caged Slayer MONO and Slayer EVO (and EVOlite). The MONO works with Texoma RC parts being mostly proprietary, while the Slayer EVO is made to run any configuration you could imagine, with many different options available.
Slayer MONO
The Slayer MONO is a one piece chassis and one piece cage printed in a custom blend of ABS-like resin. MONO is able to run forward and backwards mounted motors. Larger can motors should be mounted forward facing. The small can brushless motors are recommended (NANOBAM, NANOBEAST, Micro Komodo, etc). MONO is intended to run 39mm oil filled shocks in the rear for all rear link sets. Run 39mm with the 59mm plus fronts and 32/43mm double barrel when running the 52mm front link set.
Benefits of The MONO:
—paints and looks amazing. — NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED, for the chassis and slide on cage, at least. —easy to swap link sets (change length), giving access from the outside to the lower link screws at the skid without having to drop the skid. —super narrow belly, being pinched at the skid where the rail would normally be, allows to fit through tight notches in transitions over the skid. Things to consider about the MONO:
—PROPRIETARY, meaning the MONO is made to run all Texoma RC and may not work well with other aftermarket link sets. —Although our custom resin blend is great and ready to take a beating, if you intend on running high risk, big fall terrain, it will not be as tough as the EVO and EVOlite in PETG. —The front shock mounts do not move, so running short fronts requires 32mm or 43mm double barrel shock, while the plus fronts require 39mm oil filled shocks. Slayer EVO
The Slayer EVO is our most advanced twin rail design yet, made to run in many different configurations and link setups, not limited to Texoma RC only links. Swap between cabs, bodies, cages or mount your own custom body. Run motor forward or reverse, battery in front or behind transmission, BOA… maybe you get the point? The EVO will build with the parts you have or run complete Texoma; build on a budget or build to the nines. Stay tuned for even more body, cage and cab options for the EVO lineup. Slayer EVO parts are a combination of PETG and our custom blend resin, using the strengths of each of the materials to offer something that looks out of this world and will take a real beating.
Benefits of the EVO:
—ultra low battery and electronics in multiple configurations —swappable body, cages, cabs —run med-XLplus (145-177mm) link sets —run any other aftermarket or stock link set —optional parts to build multiple configurations for customization —adjustable front shock mount Things to consider about the EVO —RTYF
Slayer EVOlite
All EVO, just with chopped rails to run the most minimalist rig to date. Still works with all EVO parts, bodies/cages, EVO Stealth Cab or run with the included mini EVO Cab (more like roll bar to protect electronics and motor) to push beyond the limits. RTYF!
Benefits of the Slayer EVOlite:
—lowest, lightest, most versatile setup —run the included Cab, Stealth Cab or any EVO body option
Texoma Style Links
What’s the best length for comping? The shortest you can get away with and clear all the obstacles on the course. Running a shorter link set might make rigs a little less capable overall but a shorter/narrower rig fits through gates easier. We offer a full range of links the are swappable without altering your setup, from medium (c-bolt) 145mmish to XLplus 175mmish.
Link sets can be purchased in front and rear full sets (8 pieces) or the individual fronts or rears (4 pieces).
We also have a high angle steering link and knuckles to complete your link set on an scx24 stock housing.
Axle Add-ons
Axle-ons are what we call the parts used to connect the links to the axles, as well as dif skids and other bolt on accessories for the axles. We currently support scx24 stock and aftermarket replacement housings (injora, MOFO, baby hippos…) and MEUS scx24 ISO axles.
Wheels
We have a full range of RAT’ler wheels as well as the all time favorite TRIXXIES with hangers. All wheels are multiple piece with an outer face, inner face, insert and hub. RAT’ler wheels use BBs contained within the insert. All wheel sets come with 0, +2mm and +4mm hubs to dial in your offset.
Slaymos
Slaymos are made to work with MOFO brass/aluminum inserts and hubs for DDPs and UPWs, available at MOFORC.com.
V2 RAT’lers
The V2 RAT’lers were narrowed 2mm in offset from the originals and no longer flip, having an inner and outer face. Inner face now able to go around the big knuckles on the MEUS or TRX axles.
Motor mounts
We have three brushless motor mounts for the small can motors: standard (similar to furitek), side and the new nanobeast gets its own ultra low side mount. Both side mounts come with motor/driveshaft shield for front facing.
EVO Bodies and Cages
The EVO got some cool interchangeable bodies and cages, all sharing the same mounts to easily swap bodies/cages.
EVO Buggy
The EVO Buggy is made to run with Medium link set but can run any link set without modification.
EVO Truggy
The EVO Truggy is the same front as the Buggy with a stretched bed-like cage to cover the Long rear end. Made to run as a long but can run any link set without modification.
EVO TS-1
The EVO TS-1 is made to run with medium link set but can be modified to run the Plus front links and works with all rear link sets.
EVO Prime
The EVO Prime is a minimal cage made to cover electronics on your EVO build and give it a better chance in class 3 (4 depending on class breakdown). Run any link set.
Materials
All parts are designed for the machine and material the part is being printed in to maximize toughness and prevent breaks under the hardest crawling.
PETG
For things link rails and cross supports, we use PETG for its durability, being the right blend of rigid and flexible to take hours of abuse.
Resin
Our new ABS-like custom resin blend has been dialed for flexibility having learned how this material acts on small parts. Dialed!
As with all UV cured resin, applying paint or some other UV blocker will help insure the parts remain flexible over time. Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight with unfinished parts. Continued exposure of unpainted parts will increase brittleness. Stay tuned on the Texoma RC YouTube channel for paint tricks and tips to get your rig looking spiffy before RTYFing!
Replacements
Even bodies are backed by the RTYF replacements ($10 to cover shipping). I do ask that guys don’t overly abuse their rigs but accidents happen. Send pics, smash the button and add your parts needed in personalization.
